December is a great time to take mini trips to city centers because they shine bright in lights and it is magical. Last year I visited Christmas Graz for the first time and I fell in love with it, because it has a lot of lights that are traditionally placed and styled with a feeling. A small village is set on the main town square with handcrafts and food goodies that warm your heart, a market at Glockenspielplatz offers local products, with mulled wine and punch. Don’t forget to go to Mariahilferplatz which turns into Wonderland with a big wheel in December.
The trams also give special charm to the city. They are not a Christmas decoration, although they look like they are there to lift the spirit – they are playful and dangerous at the same time when you are jumping over the road and try to escape them. Graz is probably the most beautiful city I have ever visited during Christmas time. If you have the chance to visit it, you will not be disappointed.
