I love dresses, yet I’m not much of a skirt fan. While packing for summer vacation I found one skirt which I’ve had since high school and I said to myself why not give it a try. I put it in my suitcase and wore it for a trip to Novalja. I believe short skirts and high heels can look too sexy when styled together, so I put on a basic white T-shirt and sporty shoes. With this outfit, I was ready to stroll around Novalja.

Novalja has an interesting history with numerous archaeological discoveries from the 4th and 5th centuries. The remains of the floor mosaic of one of the basilicas from that time can be seen within the Gothic church of Our Lady of the Rosary in the town center. Later in the 7th century, the Croats arrived. In the next centuries, Novalja fell under the Republic of Venice, Austria, France, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Independent State of Croatia. After the Second World War it returned back to Yugoslavia and, when Yugoslavia broke up, it became part of the new state of Croatia.

Today it’s very touristic city but you can still find quite streets and alleys. Like this nice little park in front of the Novalja Town Hall.
